"The file contains no data" error message in NetMix Encoder

When you receive the error message "The file contains no data" in the NetMix Encoder software after opening a text file, one possible solution is to change the line delimiter (line breaks).

Mac

  1. Download the free software Text Wrangler http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/
  2. Install and start Text Wrangler
  3. Select File > Open and select the tab delimited file
  4. Select File > Save as and select in the drop down Line Breaks Classic Mac (CR) or Windows (CRLF) TextWranglerScreenSnapz001.png
  5. Set the Encoding to UTF-8
  6. Save the file using File > Save 
  7. Now open the NetMix Encoder and click Select Tab File and select the file  you just saved with Text Wrangler

 

Windows

  1. Download the free software Notepad ++ http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/ , choose Notepad++ Installer
  2. Install and start Notepad++
  3. Select File > Open and select the tab delimited file
  4. Select Edit > EOL Conversion  and select Windows Format CoRDScreenSnapz001.png 
  5. Save the file using File > Save 
  6. Now open the NetMix Encoder and click Select Tab File and select the file you just saved with Notepad++
